Women voters have been urged to use their numerical strength to vote women candidates into the District Assemblies and Unit Committees.
“Stand up and help each other”, Mr Augustine Bosrotsi, acting Volta Regional Director of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), said.
However, the chances of women candidates to get elected in the Tuesday March 3, District Level Elections (DLEs) could be brighter if they do not contest against each other and split their votes, Mama Agblatsu of Ho-Bankoe said.
Mr Bosrotsi and Mama Agblatsu were addressing women and People with Disabilities contesting the elections in the Ho Municipality.
The platform was organised by the Municipal Directorate of the (NCCE) with support from the European Union.
Mr Bosrotsi reminded the women and PWD candidates that though non-partisan, the DLEs are political competitions and they must therefore acquire the techniques and tactics for campaigning to be able to convince voters and enhance their chances of winning.
He advised women candidates to groom themselves and watch their public image, correct their mistakes.
The Ho Market day which falls on election-day, Tuesday, March 3, has been brought forward to Monday, March 2.
