Building a beneficial relationship, networks and establishing a strong individual brand have been identified as key principles in career development.
This was contained in a presentation delivered by Mr. Yao Anani Kuwornu, a Business Intelligence and Strategy professional at the just ended Freshers' Summit organized by the Foundation for Initiative Development (FFID).
The summit which was attended by freshmen and women drawn from some of the tertiary institutions was to provide a solid foundation for participants to develop and nurture their chosen careers.
In his address, Mr. Kuwornu emphasized the need for young people to approach the subject of career development with a conscious effort and not to be overtaken by circumstances surrounding them.
Speaking on the topic, “Professional Take-off”, Mr. Kuwornu implored participants and the youth in general to first discover their potential or purpose and be ready to build on those potentials.
These he reiterated are key principles that people hear daily but pay no particular attention to, but which forms the basis for a successful career.
Mr. Kuwornu also advised the youth to get a mentor who will guide their career paths, adding, the youth must always plan well and stay focused in executing their dreams.
