Zenith University Collage (ZUC) has launched the Africa online Business School (AoBS) to offer flexible and world class professional programmes to fully employed workers.
With the introduction of AoBS, workers would be able to pursue higher education within their own convenience online in the comfort of their homes.
At a programme to launch the AoBS in Accra on Thursday, Mr Takyi Aseidu, Rector of Zenith University College, said with the global technological advancement, it had become imperative for the University to collaborate with the Global University Systems, in UK, under its Interactive Programme to introduce the online professional programme.
The first programmes being introduced under the partnership is the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
The ACCA students would have to write 14 papers within a 24 month period while the CIMA programme will last for 30 months with students writing 14 papers as well. The recommended study time for the CFA is at least three months for each of the three levels.
Mr Aseidu said a student support centre had been established at the premises of the University in Accra to aid in the discussion and exchange of ideas by students as well as to provide learning support for students who would gain admission for the programme.
Maapa Kwame Quansah, Head of Marketing of the AoBS programme and Lecturer at ZUC, said the programme had been introduced as “an alternative for professionals to study without having to stop working”.
He explained that the programme provides virtual and relevant courses that would enable even undergraduate students to undertake alongside their main programmes without hassle.
Maapa Quansah said students offering the AoBS programmes would be provided with a wide variety of support services including regular workshops and question and answer sessions to help them be on track with their respective programmes.
They would also have access to high quality computer equipment, broadband and library resources, dedicated tutors and practical support and face to face admissions support with a 24 hour and seven days support services.
