Ghana’s biggest waste management company Zoomlion says its completion of a contract to clean Angolan stadiums for the CAF 2010 tournament is not the end of its operations in the oil-rich country.
The company is now doing the necessary paperwork to become a limited liability company to be called Zoomlion Angola Limitada.
In efforts to strengthen its presence even the more, Zoomlion says it has so far invested $3.5 million to operate in the country.
The company was the official cleaning company that provided scientific cleaning for the 11th November Sports Stadium in Luanda, Angola during the 27th Edition of the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) 2010 Orange Africa Cup of Nations with 250 workers.
International Relations Consultants for Zoomlion Angola, Kwesi Taylor, told the GNA the investments of $3.5 million included the bid for the contract, transportation of equipment and personnel to Luanda.
With the tournament over now, Zoomlion intends to establish itself as the biggest cleaning company in the country.
Taylor said there are plans of extending their work in the country to areas such as hospitals and other public institutions.
He expressed the hope that their stay in the country will be a success.
Here in Ghana, the company still engages in its usual door-to-door solid waste pre-collection business and has even extended this service to include horticulture and landscaping.
