Team Ghana has won nine medals in mixed martial arts at the ongoing 2023 African Games in Ghana.
Ghana’s representatives scooped one goal, three silvers and five bronze across various categories.
The five medals will not be counted as part of Ghana’s official medal tally for the 13th African Games because mixed martial arts is a demonstration sport.
Demonstration sports are included in the games to promote them but medals awarded will not counted as part of the official table.
Ghana has five medals so far from two athletes – Winnifred Ntumi who picked a gold and two silvers from weightlifting while Abeku Jackson also won two silvers from swimming.
