The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has invited 23 players to report for camping at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence at Prampram.
The lists include two goalkeepers of the Senior National Women’s team, the Black Queens and are to camp from Friday 21 to Monday March 28.
A press release issued by Mr. Emmanuel Gyimah, Deputy General Secretary of the GFA copied to the GNA Sports the camping is expected to prepare the women towards their impending qualifier in Beijing.
The Queens are scheduled to engage Brazil in a special play off that will take the winner to the next Olympic Games in Beijing.
The game which would be the first meeting for both teams at the women’s level is slated for Beijing on Saturday April 19.
Ghana relinquished their lead on the qualifier to Nigeria’s Super falcons in their decider played at the Abuja Stadium on Saturday with a 0-2 loss to set up a date with the South Americans.
The invited players are Memunatu Sulemana, Lydia Ankara, Doreen Awuah, (Ghana Post), Gladys Quansah, Hamdya Abass, Olivia Amoako, Sekina Abdul Mumin, (Ghatel Ladies Tamale) Justin Tetteh, Aminatu Ibrahim, Florence Okoe, Adjoa Bayor, Sheila Okai, Anita Amenuku, Mamuna Darko, Anita Amankwah (Ghatel Ladies), Rumanatu Tahiru, Doris Nettey (Atlanta Ladies), Patience Kpobi, Gloria Foriwa (Ghana Police), Safia Abdul Rahman (Hasaacas Ladies), Ama Saabi Yaa Avoe(Ashanti Ladies) and Leticia Zikpe.
