The National Partnership for Children's Fund (NPCF) in collaboration with HFC Bank, Ecobank and some benevolent individuals have awarded scholarships to 44 students from various Junior and Senior High Schools in the country.
The beneficiaries received their awards at a special ceremony organized in Accra.
The scholarships totalling GH¢8,500 represents an average of GH¢193.00, per student.
The Board Chairman of NPCT, Mr Roland Akosah in his address highlighted the need to support the education of the Ghanaian child in helping to secure a brighter future.
He disclosed that 34 of the students have had their scholarships for at least one year while 10 of them are new beneficiaries, describing the sponsorship as a gift of hope to aid them become purposeful and fruitful citizens to the nation.
He encouraged Ghanaians to emulate the good gesture and provide timely financial and material interventions to hardworking and deserving students who need support in their education.
Dr. Agnes Akosuah Aidoo, a board member of the Fund who spoke with Asempa News disclosed that the beneficiary students were selected from schools nationwide based on their excellent performances.
Dr. Akosuah Aidoo also expressed gratitude to the two major sponsors,
HFC Bank and Ecobank as well as individuals who have supported their generous cause, saying the scholarships will go a long way to motivate the students to do better.
