Music trio, 4x4, Friday night staged the biggest album launch concert ever to be witnessed in recent times at the Osu Oxford street. It was an album launch which will definitely go down into the history books as one of the biggest, if not the biggest, to be staged by an artiste. Hundreds of music lovers filled a big chunk of the famous busy street either to catch a glimpse of some of their favourite musical icons or to dance to some good music. The fifth album, Waist and Power, launch had on its bill some of the biggest names Ghanaian music had to offer. Names like Kwaw Kese, Mzbel, Stay J, D Cryme, Chemphe, Asaase Aban, Ruff N Smooth, Keche, D-Money, 5Five, Castro, Pope Skinny and a host of others took the stage to perform in support of the launch. After performances from such an impressive line-up, and with such sleek and panache, 4x4 made up of Jeff Sylvanus Dodji (Captain Planet), Russel Edem Avornyoh (CoDed) and Prince Tamakloe (Fresh Prince), also came to the party with class - they looked clean and fresh on stage. With rapturous cheers and applause, they dazzled the excited crowd with one hit after hit, including tunes from yesteryears. When the clock changed hands into the new, popular tunes such as Yese Yese and Waist and Power, which happens to be the title track of the album, they got the crowd singing and dancing the reigning dance Azonto. The trio, after that thrilling performance, told Myjoyonline.com in an exclusive interview that the free-open-air concert was their way of thanking their fans for the priceless support over the years and also to give them their Christmas gift.
