President John Mahama has called on Turkish investors to consider extending their businesses to Ghana due to its relatively peaceful and stable democratic environment.
The President, who is in Turkey on a three-day state visit during which he will participate in a business forum, said the two countries share the democratic values of peace, stability and security, all of which are required for sustainable economic progress.
Addressing the media after a bilateral meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gül at the Presidential Palace in Ankara, President Mahama noted there are numerous business opportunities in Ghana for Turkish investors to explore.
"My meeting with His Excellency Abdullah Gül as well as the inter-delegation meetings have provided us the opportunity to discuss pertinent issues relating to our bilateral relations and identify further areas of cooperation," he stated.
According to President Mahama, he visited the country with over 60 Ghanaian businesses that are also eager to further their engagements with Turkish businesses.
Outgoing Ministers for Foreign Affairs, Trade and Defence, Messrs. Mohammed Mumuni, Hanna Tetteh and Joseph Henry Smith, respectively, signed various cooperation agreements and MoU's with their Turkish counterparts.
