Four municipalities and districts in Ashanti Region have received support from Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank at the just ended Farmers Day.
Amansie West, Atwima Kwanwoma districts as well as Kwadaso and Old Tafo Municipal assemblies are within the banks catchment area.
The farming tools and household items were given to deserving farmers in the respective areas in recognition of their contribution to the national economy.
They include cutlasses, watering cans, wellington booths, television sets, refrigerators, among others.
This is the sixth time in six consecutive years that the bank has donated to support the Farmers Day awards.
Board Chairman of Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank, Patrick Owusu who presented the items to beneficiary assemblies says the presentation form part of the bank's efforts to encourage farming.
"We take delight in supporting the annual Farmers Day awards. We have a lot of farmers as our clienteles which we help to expand their farms; maintain their farms on year by year basis."
He promising more support from the bank to farmers in the bank's catchment.
"It is a very difficult enterprise to be a farmer in Ghana because of subsistence nature of it. We have to do everything possible to encourage those who are in agric-business to do it and do it big time".
Kwadaso Municipal Director of Agriculture, John Ankomah Koranteng who spoke for all beneficiary institutions is happy at the gesture.
He says it will encourage healthy competition among beneficiary farmers.
