The Country Commercial Manager of British Airways Ghana, James Wooldridge has stated that the airline is very committed to its business in Ghana after having performed extremely well in 2012.
According to him, the airline in 2012 had experienced significant growth of its business in Ghana, primarily in premium traffic and in non-premium traffic from Accra to London and North America.
Speaking at a round-table with the media, Mr Wooldridge said the airline had chalked several achievements in 2012 which included the celebration of 75 years of British Airways' commitment to Ghana, marked with several activities.
“I am really proud of the work the team has done here. I’m really proud of the media attention that we have here and also the product and reliability that we’ve got. It has helped to grow our brand here.”
He explained that Ghana’s GDP, over the past three to four years, had been growing steadily making the country a great place to do business.
"There has been increased demand for air travel by customers travelling primarily for business and also for leisure, due to investment in infrastructure for the mining and oil and gas".
“Business in Ghana is good; the economy is stable thus attracting foreign investors here. It is a very dynamic and forward thinking market” he stated, adding that British Airways was very committed to its business in Ghana and would remain so for the foreseeable future.
