The Motor Traffic and Transport Unit of the Ghana Police Service (MTTU) has directed all heavy duty truck drivers plying the Accra-Kumasi road to desist from using the Mamfe-Koforidua road.A statement in Accra on Tuesday said the MTTU had recently being recording series of accidents on that stretch of road involving heavy duty trucks.The unit is therefore urging drivers to rather use the Suhum-Nsawam road.“Motorists who defy this directive will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly” the statement said.
