Fire has razed down the entire administration block of the Mim Senior High School at Gooso in the Bono Ahafo Region.
The fire which reportedly started at 1:00 AM has destroyed a number of properties running into hundreds of thousands of Ghana cedis.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known. It comes at a time teachers are already on strike, complicating the problems students will go through with respect to teaching and learning.
Some of the affected students who spoke to Joy News said they had been greatly affected.
Headmaster of the school, Patrick Kwabena Adjei said academic work cannot resume until alternative arrangements are made to accommodate the teachers and administrators who used the destroyed building.
According to him, the stores, general office, headmaster and assistants office have all been affected.
“It is very devastating. The buildings are even pulling down and there are lots of cracks after they were burnt.
“There is nothing the building can be used for again. Unless the whole thing is pulled down,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive of the Asunafo North District Alhaji Mohammed Doku has told Joy News NADMO officials have been sent to the school to assess the situation.
