The Andani Youth Assication has accused government of complacency in resolving the murder of the Overlord of Dagbon Traditional Area, Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II.
The family has bemoaned the failure of security agencies to unearth the truth surrounding the death of the King of Dagbon.
Press secretary of Andani Youth in Yendi, Mr. Mohammed Seidu made the accusation when he addressed the media on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, as part of activities marking the eleventh anniversary of the murder of the King.
"Eleven years after the murder of the Yaa-Na, the government continues to bury its head in the sand of indifference and complacency, hoping that the problem will melt away with time.
"Meanwhile those extremist elements responsible for the crimes have not shown any remorse whatsoever and continue to thwart all efforts at restoring peace and tranquility in the area".
The Andani royal family has therefore renewed its call to government to honour its promise to bring to book, perpetrators of the murder of the late Overlord of Dagbon, Ya-Na Yakubu Andani II and 29 others who were with him in the Gbewaa Palace on the fateful day of March 27, 2002.
