Officials of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) have assured they will soon pay contractors undertaking various projects for the fund. Some contractors on projects under the Fund have complained about delays in payments. However Public Relations Officer at the GETFUND Stephen Baffor told Joy News the agency is awaiting the release of funds from the Finance Ministry to pay the bills."Very soon the Ministry of Finance will give us some money. Once we receive that we would be paying whose certificates have been processed at the GETFund," he said.He dismissed assertions that the GETFund is a contract awarding institution, saying it only funds contracts that have been awarded already.GETFUND is also financing the education of scores of students in various universities abroad. Many of them complain they are yet to receive their monies despite numerous complaints sent to authorities.Mr Baffor said processes are under way to release funds to the students.
