Gomoa Ayensuadze in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region was thrown into a state of shock when three people who went on a fishing expedition in a stream were attacked by a crocodile, leaving one dead with the others severely injured.
The deceased, Kofi Ninsin, 60, a farmer was reported to have struggled with the crocodile while it tried to chew his knee joint.
The animal was said to have first attacked the two others, a male and female before turning on Ninsin.
The three were sent to the Gomoa Abasa Health Centre for treatment but Ninsin who was bleeding profusely was referred to the Winneba Government Hospital and died later on.
The body of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue for autopsy while the two others have been treated and discharged.
Nana Onsonyameye, the Mankrado of Gomoa Ayensuadze who made this known could not immediately give the names of the two others.
