An Opel Astra Salon car with registration number, AS 4259-13 has crushed three school girls to death at Assin Odumasi school junction in the Central Region.
All three girls are pupils of Assin Sibinso Roman Catholic Catholic Primary School.
Eyewitnesses say pupils were on their way home from school.
An eyewitness, Thomas Tenkorang told Adom News the Opel Astra overtook a Yutong bus and swerved an oncoming car before running into the girls.
The Abura Dunkwa District Police Commander, DSP Bernard Twum-Barima confirmed the incident to Adom News. He said the girls are between the ages of six and nine.
He said the bodies of the girls have been deposited at the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital mortuary for autopsy.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Opel Astra is in police custody, and according to the police, he would be put before court tomorrow.
