The President John Mahama, who is also the Commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has made some key promotions in the military.
Joy News can confirm that Chief of Defence Staff, Rear Admiral Mathew Quarshie has been promoted to Vice Admiral.
Mr. Quarshie was recently elevated to the position of Chief of Defence Staff.
Also, Chief of Army Staff, Brigadier General Richard Opoku-Adusei, has been promoted to Major General.
Chief of Naval Staff, Commodore Geoffrey Mawuli Biekro has been promoted to Rear Admiral.
All the promotions take effect from 28th March 2013.
Meanwhile, the military command is expected to issue a statement on these promotions soon.
