It will be a night of glamour and display of professionalism when the finest of Ghana’s public relations practitioners converge at the State House Banquet Hall in Accra for the IPR Excellence Awards and Presidential Ball on April 5.
The inaugural event is expected to take stock of PR Practice in Ghana over the last decade, project new strategies and reward individuals and corporate entities whose work has promoted professionalism in PR practice.
ICT device assembling firm, Rlg Communications Ltd is the Headline Sponsor for the event which is expected to attract an array of guests, most of whom have excelled in various spheres of communication including journalism and corporate relations.
It is on the theme “IPR@40: Consolidating the Image of Ghana as a Peaceful and Democratic Nation”.
President John Dramani Mahama, an accomplished PR Practitioner himself and a fellow of the IPR, is the Special Guest of Honour and is expected to use the occasion to propagate government’s support for public relations practice in general and the Institute in particular.
Commenting on the sponsorship deal, the Head of Legal & Corporate Affairs, Prosper Harrison Addo said the decision to partner IPR to promote PR Excellence is in “line with Rlg’s commitment to supporting economic development and inspiring the youth of Ghana to generate further excellence”.
The Institute of Public Relations, Ghana was established in 1972 to promote professionalism in the practice of public relations in Ghana and offers its members access to information, advice and support, networking and training opportunities and the Awards are being organised in celebration of the Institute’s 40th anniversary.
“We are excited Rlg and other companies are partnering the Institute on this course”, commend IPR President, Maj. Rtd. Albert Don Chebe, APR; who has been spearheading PR Excellence since assuming the Presidency of the Institute in 2011.
