Chief Executive Officer for the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Bertha Sogah is confident that she will be vindicated by the committee set up by to investigate her, over allegations of conflict of interest.
Mrs Bertha Sogah has been directed by the Board of MASLOC to proceed on leave, while investigations are conducted into her dealings with companies such as Amisgold Microfinance Service Limited, which is alleged to be owned by her husband.
Mrs. Sogah was reported to have admitted taking an amount of GHS 500,000 from the accounts of the state-run organisation and handing it over to a private company owned by her husband, according to a Daily Guide report.
Mrs. Sogah in a release copied Myjoyonline.com on Wednesday said; “I am confident that the said investigations will vindicate me. In the meantime, I urge all who speak on the issue to exercise restraint and not to denigrate me without regard to the real facts which I notice happen not be available to many who have commented on the issue”.
She however indicated, she will not hesitate to take legal action against those denigrate her.
“I serve notice to all that I will do all that is humanly possible to clear my name in this matter. If I must take lawful steps against all those who have already and will denigrate, malign and defame me I will.
“At this stage, I reiterate that I will wait for the outcome of the investigations before I speak or take any further step on this issue. I do expect that the report of the committee should not take more than a month.
“I take this opportunity also to express my heartfelt appreciation to all who have shown concern and support for me during these difficult times”.
