WASSCE candidates of the OLA Girls Senior High School at Ahafo Kenyasi in the Brong Ahafo Region say they are being humiliated by methods used by their invigilators to conduct searches on them.
The students alleged that exams officials are subjecting female candidates to strip searches in the full glare of male invigilators.
According to them, the females are also forced to remove their panties and sanitary pads in the searching process.
The students are threatening to demonstrate against the inhumane practice if it continues for the rest of the examination period.
One candidate who spoke with LUV News said some of the officials under the pretext of searching for possible foreign materials took advantage to “smooch the breasts” of the girls while removing their brassieres.
She said all the candidates were searched from “head to toe”.
“We were asked to bring our panties to our kneel level,” she reported.
Attempts to reach the headmistress of the school, Rev. Sister Martha Davidson have proven futile.
