President John Agyekum Kufuor has appointed Mr Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Deputy Majority Leader as a Minister of State. This was contained in a communication to Parliament read by Mr Ebenezer Begyina Sekyi Hughes, Speaker of Parliament, at the commencement of business on Wednesday. The announcement received a loud applause from the floor of the House with Minority MP's especially, registering their approval of the nomination with shouts of "approved, approved". Mr Kyei-Mensah Bonsu was until the recent cabinet reshuffle, the Chief Whip on the Majority side.
