One more person is said to have died in Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi when part of a three-storey building collapsed, Monday.
This brings the total number of casualties to three.
Two women died and several others were injured when the building they live crumbled some few hours after a heavy rainstorm in the Ashanti Regional capital.
Eyewitnesses told Luv News there was a loud bang followed by a plume of smoke that engulfed the vicinity shortly after the collapse.
A combined team of police and fire personnel struggled to clear the pile of concrete and to rescue survivors which included a young man, named Eric Azasu.
MP for the area, Collins Opoku Amankwah told Joy News he was dispirited by the incident.
