A letter from the Water Resources Works and Housing Ministry has asked Mr. Kweku Botwe, Managing Director of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) to report to the Ministry for re-assignment.Sources say the Ghana Water Company Limited MD was expected at post on April 12 after his leave, but indications are that he may not come back to occupy his earlier position.However, sources say government has selected his deputy Mr. Kweku Dovlo to act until further notice. GWCL was recently embroiled in an issue involving the importation of expired aluminium sulphate used in the treatment of water at a cost of over US$4.5 million.Mr. Botwe has also been implicated in several alleged corruption investigations leading to the GWCL reportedly losing millions of cedis.
