Government is likely to protest against the exclusion of Alan Kyeremanten from candidates shortlisted for the office of Director General of the WTO.
The former Trade Minister of Ghana last week failed to sail through the first round of the selection process for the top job at the World Trade organization.
But Trade Minister Haruna Iddrisu tells Joy Business Ghana has some issues on how the organization went about the selection process.
“I am consulting with my colleague the Foreign Minister Hanna Tetteh and Mr Alan Kyerematen personally on possible options that are available to the country.
“We are very much disappointed in the procedures that [they] adopted particularly the selection which was done on five preferences instead of the four which was agreed as a rule…that will guide the next possible action that Ghana as a country may consider.”
He however added that government gave its full support to Alan Kyeremanten for the post.
