Police in Tema have mounted a search for a Chinese migrant Long Xianz for murder.
The Chinese is suspected to be behind the killing of another Chinese national, Wianz Len Chen at the Korean Hotel in Tema.
Speaking to journalists, the Deputy Tema Regional Police Commander Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Maxwell Atingane says the whereabouts of Long is unknown, but frantic efforts are being made to get him apprehended.
Until his death the Chinese Immigrant, Wianz Len Chen was a small-scale miner at Dunkwa-on-Offin.
DCOP Maxwell Atingane said on April 16, Chen travelled from Dunkwa-on-Offin to Accra and picked a Chinese called Long Xianz from the Kotoka International Airport and drove him to the hotel.
He said the following day when the driver of the deceased, Mr Augustine Ampomfi called him on his cell phone there was no response.
The driver became suspicious and rushed to the hotel to check on him.
DCOP Atingane said when the receptionist used a duplicate key to open the room Chen was found dead in a pool of blood with a shirt tied to his neck.
He said the whereabouts of Long Xianz is unknown, and it is suspected that he might have killed the deceased and escaped.
DCOP Atingane said frantic efforts are being made to get Long apprehended because the police noticed he locked the hotel room and went away with the key.
