The National Labour Commission has dragged the Ghana Medical Association to court over the ongoing strike by the doctors.
The Commission is praying the court to compel the doctors to call-off the strike.
In a suit filed on April 23, the Labour Commission said it has directed the Association to call off the strike but the respondents have not obliged.
It is therefore seeking the powers of the court to compel the doctors to call off the strike which it describes as illegal.
In their affidavit to support the call for the doctors to call off the strike, the NLC said it has successfully met with all parties and has subsequently reached a Memorandum of Understanding for monies owed the respondent to be paid in installment.
The applicant by this writ is therefore praying the court to respect the details of the MOU.
