All regional offices of Zoomlion Ghana would be operating as semi-autonomous entities from June 2013.The various regional management teams of the foremost Ghanaian waste management company are expected to independently prospect for businesses to enable them generate funds internally.Ashanti Regional Manager, Stephen Gyekye-Darko says the organizational decentralization process is to sustain the company’s operations.He tells Luv News the region is ready for take-off, after two years of re-engineering the company’s regulations and operations.Mr. Gyekye-Darko acknowledged the roll out would come with challenges, which he believes would be surmounted over time.Under the new structure, the head office of Zoomlion will assume a supervisory role in coordination of activities of the regions for effective waste management.Zoomlion Ghana currently engages about seven thousand contract staff and over 300 core employees.As part of activities commemorating the 2013 May Day in Kumasi, Zoomlion engaged other sister organizations in a sporting and other fun games.Participating institutions included, LESDEP, Plant Pool Ghana, Better Ghana Management Services and the Road Safety Management Services.The annual event, according to Mr. Gyekye-Darko, is to keep workforce fit, whilst socializing for higher productivity.He says the ultimate objective is to ensure the workers are healthy to delivery the necessary change and promote healthy communities.
