Doris Awo Nkani has been appointed the Managing Director (MD) of SIC insurance with effect from April 30, 2013. With her appointment, Mrs. Nkani becomes the first female MD of the Company.
The Board of Directors of the Company made the announcement at a media briefing last week Tuesday at meeting.
Mrs Nknani brings to the Company over 29 years of experience in the Industry.
Prior to her appointment, she was the Acting Managing Director of the Company.
Mrs Nkani is a Chartered Insurer and a fellow of the Insurance Institute of Ghana (IIG).
She is also a Lawyer and has held several top management positions in the insurance industry.
Before her appointment as Deputy Managing Director (Technical) at SIC Insurance, she was the Managing Director of Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, where she helped to re-position the Company in the Insurance Industry.
In a related development, Mr Kwei Mensah Ashidam has been appointed as the Deputy Managing Director (Technical) of SIC Insurance.
Before his appointment, he was the Acting General Manager (Technical) and the Head of Re-insurance. Mr Kwei Mensah has worked with SIC Insurance since 1984.
