Ghanaians could soon have the opportunity to share in the prospects of some new big multinational firms. This is because a number of multinationals are bound to set up in the country by the third quarter.
The Chief Executive of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Mawuena Trebah revealed this to JOY BUSINESS.
This is coming at a time when the Investment Act is being revised to compel foreign firms coming into the country to cede at least 30 percent of their businesses to indigenes over a period of time. Mawuena Trebah declined to give definite details about the expected multinationals except how far discussions have gone and their sectors of operation.
“I can tell you that within the next 2 to3 months you’ll see quiet a number of major international companies coming into the country. These are major multinationals in the sectors of financial services, private equity, agribusiness, manufacturing and infrastructure. They are already making their 3rd, 4th and 5th reviews of poetinal investing opportunities in the country. The dates have already been fixed but we would like final confirmation before publicizing it” she said.
