Research by the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has put the number of Ghanaians who are now classified as obese at 1.2 million.
The research reveals the trend can only be reversed if individuals change their lifestyles.
Joy News’ Komla Adom has been speaking to a 47-year-old obese mother of two, who is unable to do anything by herself.
Lydia Quartey needs assistance to take her bath and even wear her own clothes because of her size.
