The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Committee will decide the criteria for selecting the final club to join Medeama, Kotoko and Berekum Chelsea for Africa next season.
The GFA’s regulation are silent on the situation and the highest decision making wing of the Association will have to congregate to determine which club joins the trio.
“The rules are silent on it. Yes, the GFA will meet to decide how to select the fourth club,” FA insider Ntow Fiako told Ghanasoccernet.com.
Medeama booked one of the now-available two CAF Confederations Cup tickets after beating Kotoko – Ghana Premier League winners, in the FA Cup final.
CAF told the Ghana FA on Monday the West African giants have been replenished with their two lost slots due to their performance in the Champions League and the Confederations Cup.
Two scenarios have been highlighted by connoisseurs of the game.
Firstly, Ebusua Dwarfs who finished the season in fourth place could be made to pick up the slot with Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Medeama gaining automatic qualification.
There could be a play-off between MTN FA Cup semi-final losers Hearts of Oak and Amidaus Professionals to decide – this is because Kotoko and Medeama who both played in the finals of the FA Cup have both qualified for the Champions League and Confederations Cup respectively.
