Kumasi Asante Kotoko youth team coach Karim Zito has bemoaned their inability to travel to the United Kingdom to participate in a pre season youth tournament. The trip was organized by their partners Sunderland in the English Premier League. The team was expected to arrive in the UK last Sunday to partake in the tournament involving hosts Sunderland, Newcastle and Middlesborough. But the resignation of Executive Chairman Dr. KK Sarpong who was instrumental in securing the partnership between the English club and Kotoko, the club as a result have missed a fine opportunity to hand international exposure and experience to their youth side."The resignation of Dr. Sarpong who arranged the trip affected our plans to travel since we could not fall on anybody to assist us," Zito lamented on the missed opportunity to Joy sports"The players were sad when I told them that we were not going but I had to preach to them that this is the will of God and also used myself as an example that when I wanted to go to Europe the first time I could not make it because my mother fell sick but later I went to Europe four times without paying a penny."As a youth developer, you are a father to them, you should know how to talk to them, they have confidence in me and I told them they shouldn’t worry because more tournaments will come."
