Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo has signed for Norwegian top flight side Sogndal, the 2012/2013 Ghana Premier League top scorer has confirmed via his Twitter handle.
Otoo flew to Norway after turning down a request by Belgian side Club Brugge to undergo a week of trials following successful medicals.
Sogndal had already had Otoo on trials 12 months ago and that informed the decision to hand him a contract.
The striker's move has earned mother club Hearts of Oak a transfer fee in the region of $400,000.
Otoo has expressed his delight with the move, noting that he hopes to get involved with playing for the club very soon.
"I am really happy to be in Sogndal and to join the club from now on. I really appreciate the way the club presented itself when they came to Ghana. The interaction with Håvard & Eirik made me feel very welcome and confident in my decision. The facilities and the philosophy of Sogndal fits me very well, and hopefully I can be involved soon!"
Sogdnal, which currently lies ninth on the league log, is hoping to conclude all paper work so that Otoo can play against Molde on Saturday on match day 19 of the Eliteserien.
The former Hearts of oak captain now joins fellow Ghanaian Gilbert Koomson at the club.
