Two teams who suffered a serious dent to their aspirations on match day one of the Premier League go into action on Match Day two with vengeance clearly on the minds of their expensively assembled sides.
Alan Pardew’s Newcastle were taken to the cleaners by a rejuvenated Manchester City Side who literally mesmerized their opponents with some slick passing and clinical finish. The Toon army simply had no answer to Chilean Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
Swansea fared no better at the Liberty Stadium with defending champions Manchester putting four past a hapless defence. Michael Laudrup was clearly not impressed and has vowed to make his summer signings work their socks off on Saturday at the Sports Direct Arena.
Newcastle have been unsettled in the last few days after Arsenal slapped in a bid for star midfielder Yohan Cabaye. The goals have also dried up for some time for Papiss Cisse.
How he would love to get his scoring boots on this Saturday. The Toon army would also have to do without defender Stephen Taylor who was sent off for a silly tackle on Sergio Aguero on Monday.
The battle lines have been drawn and both teams would be desperate for their first points of the season before they start playing catch up to their competitors.
It is Newcastle United vs Swansea City live from the Sports Direct Arena this Saturday August 24th on JOYSports and Adom TV only on Multi.
