Samuel Eto'o is set to complete his transfer to Chelsea from Anzhi Makhachkala, according to widespread reports in the British media.
Chelsea are thought to have targeted Eto'o -- who will cost around £5 million, according to the Guardian -- after admitting defeat in manager Jose Mourinho's pursuit of Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney.
Mourinho worked with Eto'o during their time together at Inter Milan, lifting a famous Serie A, Coppa Italia and Champions League Treble in 2010.
Eto'o left Inter for Anzhi in 2011 in a deal that reportedly made the Cameroon international football's highest paid player.
It is claimed the 32-year-old will take a significant pay cut to sign for Chelsea, with a 12-month contract, that The Sun reports will earn him £100,000-a-week, set to be penned.
"There is only one Jose Mourinho. I have played under a lot of great coaches - but there is no other character in the game like Jose," Eto'o was quoted saying in the Daily Mail on August 12.
Anzhi's owner Suleiman Kerimov recently announced his intention to reduce the club's spending, and the sale of Willian to Chelsea was confirmed on Wednesday.
Willian has inked a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge after the Blues moved for the Brazilian following interest in the player from rivals Tottenham.
