Bright Edward Kodzo Demordzi, MP for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom, has accused Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings of being ungrateful to lawyers who helped her in difficult times.
He wondered why she will bypassed the legal luminaries at her disposal to rather seek legal explanation from a perceived antagonist, Nana Akufo-Addo, who once dragged her to court while he was the Attorney-General under erstwhile Kufuor administration.
Speaking on Multi TV's AM show, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP says the former First Lady does not need Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to explain a controversial Supreme Court verdict because she has enough people around her to help her.
The former First Lady on Tuesday, paid an unusual visit to 2012 flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party, days after the Supreme Court threw out a petition filed by the NPP. The Petitioners from the NPP wanted the Supreme Court to declare their flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo as the rightful winner of December 2012 Presidential polls.
Konadu during the visit appealed to Nana Addo to explain the verdict to Ghanaians because many do not understand the judgment.
"The only thing I'd like to put before you as a lawyer and as a statesman is to explain things to Ghanaians because people are at a loss", Nana Konadu said.
But Bright Demordzi says he is surprised by this request from Nana Konadu who was also a flagbearer of the National Democratic Party - a breakaway from the NDC.
He says the appeal by Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings does not give credit to lawyers like Benjamin Kunbuor who defended her during the Caridem Development Company case in 2008.
