The Greater Accra Director of Communications of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Michael Ampong has accused his party's General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, of being behind the dastardly acts of death threat on him.
Michael Ampong claimed Mr. Owusu Afriyie, also called Sir John, is bent on refusing dissenting views in the party and has allegedly amassed wealth since taking over the party as its General Secretary.
The Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday begun investigations into alleged death threats against Mr. Ampong.
Mike Kwabena Ampong, says he had received death threats in the form of phone calls and text messages over his dissenting view on the ongoing lobbying by top party executives for Nana Akufo-Addo to run for the 2016 presidential elections.
Speaking on Adom Fm’s "Dwaso Nsem" Thursday, Mike Ampong said the party's scribe is the reason the NPP lost the 2012 general elections, describing him as the Idi Amin and Mugabe in the party.
Meanwhile, a member of the communications Team of NPP in the Ashanti Region, David Osei has rebutted the claims by Mike Ampong.
David Osei rather described Mr. Ampong as divisive and an NDC hatchet person planted in the NPP.
