Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah is rallying support for the Black Stars ahead of their must-win World Cup play-offs against Egypt. The Black Stars have drawn the Pharaohs in a keenly anticipated two-legged tie in October and November. The game between the two powerhouses has been billed as the toughest in the playoffs with many talking points dominating the headlines ahead of their clash. The Black Stars must record a convincing win from the first leg to make the second leg an easier task. The Evian stalwart, whose recent performance against Zambia has come under the microscope, wants total support for the team to dispatch off the North Africans.“It’s going to be a difficult game but I think the support that we’ll receive from the fans will prove crucial.”“The supporters were amazing during the group phase but we need them now more than ever to see us through.“Their unflinching support has urged us on and I believe that if they come out in their numbers as they have done over the qualifying series it will spur us on to beat the Egyptians.“We have lots of respect for them but we’re not afraid. We have the ability to go past them. I am really confident about our chances but like I said the fans will prove the key factor.” Mensah said. The performance of the number one shot-stopper against the Chipolopolo in their group D decider has left much to be desired. He is expected to improve on his anticipation in a game which will have little room for mistakes
