Government has announced it will soon release the third edition of the 'Better Ghana Agenda' Green Book of achievements of the Mahama-led administration.
The book according to government will provide credible and verifiable information on the successes chalked in just five years in power.
A Deputy Information Minister, Felix Kwakye Ofosu disclosed this on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.
This comes after the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) accused government of misusing tax payers’ monies.
At a news conference in Accra, the Minority in Parliament said Ghana’s economy may soon collapse if government does not halt the excessive borrowing on the international market.
But Felix Kwakye Ofosu on Ekosii Sen said the facts put out by the Minority are misleading.
According to him, Ghana’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ratio which is 49.5 percent is far better than the top seven most industrialized countries in the world.
"Ghana’s economy is around GH¢85 billion so we have the capacity to borrow. We need to be fair in the analysis of the national economy" he added.
Kwakye Ofosu described as "hypocritical" the Minority's claim that it does not know what government has done with the loans when in fact there are a lot of developmental projects going on nationwide.
He cited the over "100 roads, schools" and other projects ongoing in the Western, Ashanti and Greater Accra regions to corroborate his claims.
The Deputy Information Minister noted that the Green Book scheduled to be launched in October 2013, will catalogue the facts and figures of the "unprecedented achievements" of the Mahama administration.
He intimated that the NPP for political expediency "distort facts" and put out this "alarming statements" to paint a gloomy picture of the economy to Ghanaians.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the governing National Democratic Congress remains unperturbed and is committed to ensuring there is a Better Ghana for all irrespective of your party affiliation.
