LEC Foundation, a youth organization committed to raising the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs in Africa, is set to host this year’s Success Africa Conference in three West African countries.
The Foundation, for the past six years, has been organizing a series of leadership and career development seminars for tertiary students and senior high school students, notably the Success Africa Conference.
This year’s event which marks the 7th edition conference would be held in Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia.
Success Africa 2013 is under the theme: “Defying All Odds”. Resource persons will include KSM, Obafemi Banigbe of Tigo; Dr. Frank Adu of CAL Bank, Dr. Stephen Enchill of First Capital Plus among others, and the Convener will be the Founder and Chairman of LEC Foundation Mr. Albert Kusi
A statement by Albert Kusi, Chief Executive Officer of LEC Creativity International, said the aim of the conference is to empower young people to achieve their set goals and ambitions where resource persons are invited to talk on issues of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Career Development.
The conference which was first organized in 2007 at the University of Cape Coast, travelled to 20 tertiary campuses with about 50 resource persons last year.
“The Conference over the years has empowered many young people to rise up above every challenge and achieve success in their field of endeavour,” the statement touted.
In Ghana the Success Africa 2013 will be hosted in four institutions namely University of Ghana, 5th October, 2013; University of Mines and Technology (UMAT), 12th October, 2013; KNUST, 19th October, 2013; and the University of Cape Coast on the 26th October, 2013. It will then be moved to Nigeria on 2nd November and Liberia on the 8th November.
Some renowned personalities are expected to be honoured with the Leadership and the Entrepreneurship Gold Award as recognition for their unique achievements in their field of endeavor.
“In our quest to reduce graduate unemployment, LEC Foundation believes that a platform like this will enable young people to discover themselves, get the opportunity to be mentored and also coached in their quest to start and manage their own businesses,” the statement concluded.
