A 55-year-old man, his wife and two children died after drinking a deadly concoction to cure stomach pains.
Isaac Konor who resides at Sasaakwa in the Akyem Tafo District of the Eastern region, first prepared the concoction for his 17 year old son who had complained of a stomach ache last Thursday.
Thinking the concoction would cure future stomach ailments; Mr. Konor drank some himself and gave the rest to his wife and a 23-year-old daughter.
Deputy Eastern Regional Police Commander, ACP James Azumah Abass told Joy News that 23- year-old Mary Yeboah and her mother died soon after the police got to the scene.
He said the police will be interrogating some family members of the deceased to determine the exact circumstances of their death.
The Deputy Police Commander noted that even though the police does not rule out foul play, investigations are ongoing to unravel the mystery.
ACP Abass said the bodies have been deposited at the police hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.
