A statement signed by Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, General Secretary of the NPP, ordered "all party officers to suspend such action in order not to jeopardize a very peaceful exercise that the party intends to undertake".
The statement said the party is still in the process of preparing comprehensive guidelines that would govern internal elections from the polling stations to the National Executive level.
It said the guidelines will be released to the party's regional and constituencies offices by Friday 18th October 2013.
