Ghana's fastest rapper Michael Owusu Addo known on stage as Sarkodie has disclosed that, considering the musical influence rapper Obrafour had on him as an up and coming artiste, he believes he is the best rapper in Ghana.
Sarkodie stressed that Obrafour's rap and musical prowess is unparallel and believes that till date he still reveres him as a rap genius.
Speaking in an interview on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM Wednesday with Kwame Sakyiamah, the Tema-based rapper disclosed that Obrafour is the best rapper in Ghana and he sees him as his "dad".
"He's my dad... I am still not used to [him]. We have songs but I cannot have a normal conversation with him. I respect him so much I cannot even take him as a normal human being because he inspired me when I was a kid," the 'Illuminati' hit singer said.
The Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner revealed that he used to 'steal' mobile phones for call minutes just to call Obrafour "and I will mention my name that I want to rap to him, I want to meet to him one day."
Now arguably one of Africa's finest rappers, Sarkodie said he still finds it very difficult to ask Obrafour, known in real life as Michael Kwabena Okyere Darko, for a collaboration.
According to him, "I normally don't call Obrafour that I want to feature you, he is not my age mate, so I do the song and intentionally try to make Hammer get him to come to the studio to listen to it. If he likes it," he does a hook for the song.
"He [Obrafour] is out of this world," Sarkodie said and added that, "I wish I could do an album with him," something he hopes will come to pass soon.
