The FA will be responsible for naming the man to succeed Bob Bradley as Egypt manager, sports minister Taher Abou-Zeid.
Even though he said before the 6-1 World Cup qualifying loss in Ghana that he is optimistic with Bradley, former Egypt star Abou-Zeid couldn’t hide his disappointment after the Kumasi drubbing.
“I think all bodies including the FA and the sports ministry were working hard for the sake of the national team, yet we were all disappointed,” Abou-Zeid was quoted by the FA’s website.
“The football association is now responsible for choosing and hiring a new manager.
“Egypt’s image has been damaged in Kumasi but we are determined to make things right again.”
Abou-Zeid, who was hired as part of Egypt’s governmental changes three months ago, has been actively working on improving the country’s depleted sports status.
The Ahli legend made the decision to hire a new board of directors to lead Zamalek on a temporary basis on Saturday, in an attempt to save the beleaguered Cairo giants.
