A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Fredua-Agyeman Ofori-Atta is advocating that Ghanaians wear “red arm bands” to protest against “the unprecedented crass incompetence” exhibited by the Mahama-led administration.
He further intimated that President John Mahama’s “incompetence” as a leader was to blame for the current socio-economic woes in the country.
Nana Fredua was reacting to the current economic problems, labour agitations, increment in utility tariffs coupled with high cost of living in the country on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday, October 24, this year.
He said given this abysmal performance in just five years, it is now evident that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has no clue what governance is about.
According to him, under the Mahama-led government, “ineptitude and mediocrity” have been elevated into noble arts worthy of honour.
He cited how leading government officials like Brigadier-General Nunoo Mensah openly hurl insults on public workers for demanding better remunerations.
Nana Fredua said indiscipline in public life has reached its apex, with Ministers of state paying gargantuan monies to their cronies with callous disregard to the plight of the ordinary Ghanaian.
He therefore described as worrying how 'loud mouths' in government easily point to a past mistake of the erstwhile Kufuor administration to justify their failures.
Nana Fredua said until Ghanaians show government the red card, it will never wake up from its slumber.
