Northern Regional executives of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have pledged to address concerns of more than 200 members of its Tamale Central constituency branch.
Over 200 branch and ward executives have threatened to boycott all party activities in the constituency.
The executives say they are protesting the failure of both Regional and National executives to recognize their sacrifices to the party.
Joy News' Northern Regional Correspondent, Hashmin Mohammed reported that the over 200 members were invited to meet with National Executives of the party to discuss the way forward towards electoral reforms in the party "only for the national executives to disappoint them for the second time."
This, he reported, angered of the branch executives to unanimously take the decision to boycott all activities of the NDC in the constituency till an apology is received from the National executives.
Spokesperson for the branch executives, Issah Dabale, addressing journalists at the Tamale Centre for National Culture said considering the strategic role the region plays in the electoral fortunes of the NDC, they can't be taken for granted.
Some branch executives who spoke to Joy News said, "Those who could not hitherto buy even bicycles are building mansions [and they] come to tell us that there is nothing." They alleged that they have been left out of the Better Ghana Agenda which is only being enjoyed by persons at the national office.
But the Regional Treasurer Tanko Computer says the members’ concerns are being addressed and that he believes that, "His Excellency John Dramani is fair to everybody in the country [and] in the party as well."
