The state has begun an inquest into the private accounts of the embattled former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah.
A letter written by the Financial Intelligence Centre, a statutory organisation, and signed by its CEO, Samuel Thompson Essel, stated among other things that Victoria Hamah is under "security notice."
Dated November 13, 2013, the letter, a copy of which is in the possession of Asempa FM, said the inquest is in pursuant of Section 28 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act 2008 (Act 749).
Victoria Hamah was sacked last week Friday after the content of a leaked tape went viral. She was heard among other things, nursing the hope of making one million dollars in politics before bowing out.
She also accused a colleague Deputy Minister of Women's Gender and Social Protection, Rachel Appoh, of being "ugly" and arrogant.
She has since come under severe criticism for the comments made.
To add to her woes, the state has written to all banks in Ghana requesting for information relating to her private accounts.
The letter asked the banks to provide the Intelligence Agency with the following information.
"1. Mandate and Account opening forms.
2. Evidence of Know Your Customer (KYC) and Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
3. Legible Copy of the Photo Identity
4. All Transaction statements (Bank/investment statement)"
The banks have been directed to respond by close of day, Friday, November 15, 2013.
