Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited (GGBL) has launched a new look for its flagship brand, Guinness, at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 23, 2013.
To celebrate the launch of the new look, GGBL hosted an iconic event dubbed the ‘Guinness Big Eruption Concert’ that brought world class entertainment to Ghanaians.
The concert was headlined by international R&B sensation and BET award winner Akon and Hip Hop artiste Big Sean.
These international artistes were supported by Nigerian superstar Wizkid, Ghanaian dancehall artistes Samini and Shata wale.
Peter Ndegwa, Managing Director, GGBL, said the event was "to reinforce Guinness as a brand Made of More in the hearts and minds of its cherished consumers. This announcement will be the game changer for the world’s most distinctive beer, Guinness".
"We believe that this will help transform Guinness to represent a contemporary, premium, and stylish brand that is Made of More", Mr Ndegwa added.
He said GGCL deems it important to offer our consumers good quality products packaged in the most exciting and innovative way for "maximum satisfaction".
Unveiling the new look, Agnes Essah, Marketing Director, GGBL, said: “Guinness is an Iconic Brand that has thrived for over 250 yrs and has been part of our Ghanaian heritage for over 20 years. The new look of Guinness makes the brand more contemporary and premium at the same recommended retail price of GHs 2.20”.
She added that, the "event is to celebrate and reward our loyal consumers and trade partners for making Guinness the number 1 stout in Ghana".
The contemporary, new look of Guinness comes with the same liquid that consumers have know for years, according to the Diageo subsidiary.
Guinness is a Super Brands award winner.
