The Brong Ahafo regional Minister claims his life is being threatened by some unknown persons over the appointment of a new Chief Executive for Techiman.
He has denied influencing the appointment of Philip Amponsah as the new MCE for the area.
Paul Evans Aidoo said he couldn’t have usurped the President’s prerogative in appointing the MCE and wonders why his life is being threatened over the appointment.
“I am taking this opportunity to place on record that no regional minister in this country has the power to appoint a district Municipal or Metro Chief Executive” Mr. Evans Aidoo said.
He added that “the President shall nominate and then assembly members will have to confirm or otherwise. The duty of the regional minister is to facilitate the confirmation process.
“The curses, the insults and the threatening messages I have on my mobile…I don’t have the powers to nominate the Chief executive”.
